Dolmen archers was founded in 2003 by Pat Lyons, the club has come a long way in such a short time, bringing home national records and medals. There has also been a great success on the international scene.
In order to become a member of Dolmen archers, and by extension Archery Ireland, it is necessary for all prospective new members to undergo a beginners course, for which you will find information below. Upon completion of the course you will be allowed to join the club. We take anyone from the age of 10 up.
We take our name from the local Browneshill Dolmen, located to the east of Carlow town. The people who erected the Dolmen over 5,000 years ago would themselves have been archers and we are proud to be associated with and to aid in the continuation of this tradition.

We run a 5 week beginners course for anyone looking to join the club or anyone just looking to try something new.
The course runs on Tuesday nights from 8:15pm to 9:45pm for the 5 weeks and the charge for adults is €100 and for juniors its €80 upfront and all the equipment will be provided for the duration of the course.
The course will allow you entry into the club and full access to coaching and knowledge of the sport itself.
As soon as sufficient numbers are interested a beginner's course will be put in place.
